Meet Infinix ZERO Flip 5G - Your vlogging flip partner
 |
The box |
The Infinix ZERO Flip 5G arrived in a Gray flat box bearing Infinix's logo, the "ZERO Flip GET IN NOW" tagline, and the printed 16GB/512GB memory at the top right corner.
 |
Inside the box |
Opening it up will greet you with ZERO Flip 5G unit, the two cases for upper and lower sections, a USB-C cable, a 70W brick charger, and paperwork containing the quick guide and warranty card.
 |
Infinix ZERO Flip 5G design (folded state) |
Picking up the device, you’ll instantly notice its weight (195 g) giving a subtle nod to its sturdy construction. While we refrained from testing its limits with a full bend, we tried minimal pressure which revealed zero flex as both the upper and lower sections felt solid.
When it comes to durability, the cover screen boasts Gorilla Glass Victus 2, providing a robust shield against accidental scratches and drops. The back cover complements this sturdiness with its shell-like texture, offering a reassuringly solid feel in hand. Better yet, it resists smudges remarkably well, keeping the surface clean even after dealing with oily fingers.
One of its standout features is the Zero Gap Hinge, designed to have almost zero creases while delivering exceptional durability.
 |
Zero Gap Hinge |
Infinix claims it can endure up to 400,000 folds, ensuring longevity for years of use. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 had up to 200,000 folds indicating that the ZERO Flip had two times more.
Design-wise, we have the Rock Black colorway here. It provides a bold look yet remains elegant with its subtle shiny finish and marble-like appearance. It is similar to what we saw with the TECNO PHANTOM V Flip2 5G. |
The cover display |
In terms of screen, obviously, we have the cover panel which is a large 3.64-inch AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate and 1066 x 1056 resolution at 412 ppi.
This provides a spacious viewing experience enough to see quick notifications on the go, watch YouTube, browse FB or Messenger, snap selfies, view interactive pets, or play mini-games.
 |
The main display |
Next, it has a main screen of 6.9-inch folding LTPO AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2,160Hz PWM dimming. It also has TUV Rheinland Eye Care certification to ensure less fatigue during use in longer periods.
 |
Main screen for streaming |
The display is extra-wide or tall depending on the orientation enough to see multimedia activities. There's still a crease noticeable but it depends on the angle you are viewing the phone. The colors of the screen are pretty accurate and is fairly bright at 1,400 nits making it usable for outdoor activities.
 |
The left side |
On the left side, antenna bands are visible and on the right part, you'll see the volume rockers and side-mounted fingerprint reader.
 |
The top and bottom view |
At the top portion, you'll see a microphone hole and more antenna bands. While on the bottom there's the USB-C port and the speaker grill.
 |
The cameras |
Moving to the cameras, it uses a 50MP f/1.88 main shooter with OIS and PDAF + 50MP ultra-wide sensor + LED flash. On the selfie side, it also has a 50MP sensor w/ PDAF.

Its main 50MP camera is capable of capturing good photos in well-lit conditions. It goes the same with the 50MP (14mm) ultra-wide which can retain the right details like the primary shooter in most scenes.
The main camera can produce well-detailed photos with good colors, passable dynamic range, and shadows. The ultra-wide allowed us to take almost similar sharpness in outdoor scenes, however, you would notice a difference in a slightly darker output. It also allows up to 2x in-sensor zoom with decent quality and identical dynamic range.
The ultra-wide camera also has the usual distortion you will find on most ultra-wide cameras, but it is not fish-eye-like and is very much usable for creative wide snaps.
The rear cameras particularly shined in indoor scenarios, particularly on our food shot. They delivered great details and color accuracy, making them suitable for quick IG stories of IG snaps.
This is better than expected for a foldable flip phone at this price point.

Low light selfie |
One of the things we appreciate about this device is that it lets us snap selfies using its rear camera. Typically, main cameras provide superior quality than the front ones and that's what we exactly experienced. We were able to get highly detailed selfies with good dynamic range and colors for both bright and dark scenarios.
Using the selfie camera on the main screen allowed us to get good-quality shots too and offered balanced color tones. But not as detailed as the rear cameras.
Among the highlights of this phone is the video capabilities. The Infinix ZERO Flip 5G can record up to 4K resolution with a stable frame rate (30fps) at least when not moving. If you try to walk there are noticeable mini shakes so you really need to have a good hold when shooting clips.
You'll get a smoother performance when toning the resolution down to 1080p 60fps. This quality is still acceptable for vlogging since Full HD is most accessible for many users like watching on reels, TikToks, or Shorts.
Performance
The Infinix ZERO Flip 5G boasts a 2.6GHz 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 8020 octa-core processor with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, 8GB + 8GB dynamic RAM, and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Below are the benchmark results:
 |
The Infinix ZERO Flip 5G's benchmark results |
- AnTuTu - 719,927 points
- Geekbench - 744 points (single-core), 2509 points (multi-core)
- 3DMark - 4311 points at 25.82 fps average
- CPDT - 599,3Mbps write speed, 762.44Mbps read speed
These numbers are considered decent today and should provide enough power to run whatever apps you throw at it.
In real-life usage, our social media surfing went smooth and lag-free despite running a lot of apps in the background or tabs in the browser. It's also capable of running top streaming apps like YouTube, Netflix, or Disney+ with ease.
The phone's gaming performance with Mobile Legends was exceptional, running smoothly on Ultra graphics and a high frame rate of 90 fps.
FPS games like PUBG Mobile run effortlessly at high settings, maintaining a stable 40 fps for an immersive experience.
Gaming on the highest possible frame rate and visual quality also comes with some warming but not to the point of uncomfortable feel and or experiencing performance dips.
Moving to the battery, it has a 4,720mAh size and charges using USB-C and a 70W fast charger.
Great battery performance for a flip phone
During our PCMark testing, the power-saving feature occasionally interrupted the process. However, based on the battery history, the device achieved 9 hours and 30 minutes of screen time with 12 percent battery remaining. This suggests that the device can easily last through a full workday, with enough power left for your commute.
That goes the same with our personal experience, the ZERO Flip 5G managed to hold up during one of our events which was fully charged in the afternoon and survived till midnight.
In terms of standby time, the device can last for many days if you leave it without charging.
Speaking of charging, we started plugging it on 12 percent, and just took 46 minutes to fully charge the phone.
For audio, there's a bottom-firing speaker and you can also see one above the centered notch. This makes a stereo effect creating an immersive experience for listeners. Additionally, these are tuned by JBL to provide sounds that will suit general consumers' tastes.
The volume is on the decent side, it lets you hear the details clearly in a small room but not that loud enough to fill a large space.
In terms of quality, it has a bright sound signature, with a bit of bass but will not overpower the vocals which are more present. On max volume, we noticed there are hisses on high notes. But gets eliminated when you put the volume on 75 to 80 percent.
The ZERO Flip 5G also has a snappy fingerprint reader located on the side (power key). It instantly opens up my phone when it's needed. Moreover, the power key can also act as a shutter button for our quick selfies during the unfolded state.
Connectivity options are 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS and dual SIM.
All are working great, the speed tests were fast on both 5G, 4G, and even WiFi. The Bluetooth connection doesn't drop whether on wireless headphones or our gamepad.

The XOS 14.5 user interface |
The Infinix ZERO Flip 5G runs on Android 14 with the XOS 14.5 skin, delivering a smooth and responsive experience whether you're scrolling, swiping, or tapping. The UI offers customizable widgets and icon styles, letting you tweak shapes, color tones, and sizes to match your vibe. You can also choose between Google’s Material You design or Infinix’s default settings.
There are also many high definition wallpapers to choose from or you can simply change it to your liking.
Infinix also added the Folax AI, your smart assistant. It can draft emails, manage screen time, switch to selfie mode for instant snaps, play music, make calls, and even generate images.
Our thoughts
Priced at PHP 29,999, Infinix has successfully introduced an affordable Flip alternative with the ZERO Flip 5G.
It brings attractive design, good build quality with a promise of 400K folds, a large cover screen for instant notification access, a good main screen, and a respectable performance for a flip.
It also offers a decent vlogging camera phone with respectable stability on capturing videos at 4K resolution plus you get the feel of holding an actual handy cam.
In the software department, you get FREE AI features that can be helpful in productivity scenarios. Infinix can only offer up to 2 years of OS upgrades which is also seen in most of its products.
Aside from that it flips, this device checks most of the boxes of what you look for in a smartphone at this price point. It's a fun experience and if that's what you're really after then this phone could be what you're looking for.
