Following the successful launch of Season 2 in December, the global phenomenon "Squid Game" is set to return for its third season mid this year. Netflix announced this week that the Korean series' final installment will be released on June 27.

To recall (spoiler alert for those who haven't watched the latest season!), Season 2 ended with what appeared to be a failed rebellion of the players led by Gi-hun (played by actor Lee Jung-jae). The games continue, with the ending scene giving a glimpse of what might happen next.
Netflix shared new images to give a hint, featuring Lee, the Front Man played by actor Lee Byung-hun, and the other characters.
Series director, writer, and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk also confirmed the news in a letter to fans.
I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new Squid Game grow and bear fruit through the end of this story, Hwang wrote. We’ll do our best to make sure we bring you yet another thrill ride.

The hype around the new season is massive, but the article feels a bit stretched with guesses instead of hard data, don’t you think? Still, I love the tension theme.
