Elon Musk unveils xAI Grok 3 as the "smartest AI in the planet", now available on iOS

Elon Musk's xAI reveals the Grok 3 and boldly claims its smartness against the competition.

The smartest AI to rule them all?

The CEO himself touted the new service as the "world's smartest AI model". The users who tried it early even said that such claims is not overly dramatic. 

One of the Grok's main highlights is that it has real-time knowledge providing a big difference, Musk said on his X page. He also added that it can deliver 10x the compute power of its predecessor.

According to tests released by xAI, the company's latest model performs better on benchmarks for mathematical reasoning and coding abilities than the most mainstream AI firms like OpenAI, Gemini, or DeepSeek. In addition, the firm introduced Deep Search, a new tool that aims to expedite online research and competes with comparable offerings found on competitors.

Furthermore, there is the Think Mode, in which the AI service does multi-step reasoning, divides down issues into smaller pieces, examines solutions, and fine-tunes the response before displaying the final output.

The Grok app also enables users to create images via text prompts and upload files and images for processing.

To use the app, simply head to the Apple App Store, search the Grok by xAI, and hit sign in using your X or Apple account, once you're on the interface choose Grok 3 (beta) then use it for whatever reason you intend to.

Do note the AI is free for a limited time as per Elon Musk. For Android users, the CEO said it will be available soon. While macOS and Windows also receive their respective standalone apps as well.
