Following its launch last December 2024, we will provide you with an in-depth overview of the vivo X200. |
vivo X200 |
To recap, this is the base variant from the X200 Series that comes with a flagship chip and strong cameras.
It boasts 6.67-inch Quad Curved 1.5K AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 3nm Dimensity 9400 chip, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, 5,800mAh battery with 90W fast charging and 50MP f/1.57 Sony IMX921 sensor w/ CIPA 4.5 stabilization + 50MP f/2.0 119 ultra-wide-angle + 50MP f/2.57 Sony IMX882 telephoto main shooter.
But before we dig in, let's unbox the phone first.
Meet vivo X200 - Raw power and strong cameras
 |
The box |
The vivo X200 arrived in a Black flat box bearing the brand's logo, and says "Co-engineered with ZEISS. Behind you'll see the storage configuration, which we got the 16GB/512GB and the color variant Green.
 |
Inside the box |
Opening it up will greet you with a vivo X200 unit, 1x transparent case, a USB-C cable, a 90W brick charger, and paperwork containing the quick guide and warranty card.
Upon picking up the device, the vivo X200 immediately impresses with its sleek yet premium feel.
The reinforced metal frames contribute to a sturdy build, both inside and out, while the 197-gram weight gives it a reassuringly solid heft in hand. Furthermore, its slim 7.99mm profile keeps it in line with the sleek aesthetics expected from a high-end device.
 |
The vivo X200 design |
Design-wise, we got the Green colorway here featuring a glossy finish, a silver vivo logo, and circular camera bump housing the four sensors and LED flash, and you could also spot the ZEISS logo.
While the vivo X200's camera bump is noticeable, vivo has minimized its protrusion to maintain the phone's sleek profile. In daily use, we found the raised module doesn't interfere with pocketability and fits perfectly in our GameSir G8 telescopic—a testament to its well-considered design.
 |
The vivo X200's screen |
In terms of screen, it has a 6.67-inch Quad Curved AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K 2800 x 1260 resolution at 471 ppi, 2160Hz PWM dimming, 4,500 nits peak brightness, and sports an In-Display fingerprint scanner.
 |
The high-resolution display |
We definitely experienced a crisp, color-accurate screen from the vivo X200, making our video streaming and gaming sessions vibrant and immersive, with deep blacks and notable HDR10+ performance thanks to its AMOLED panel and high peak brightness.
One of the better and brightest screens around
The shift from a dual-curved to a quad-curved panel is also a welcome upgrade—it minimizes accidental touches while retaining the premium feel of a curved display, yet feels much closer to holding a flat screen.
Its 4,500 nits peak brightness is such a handy feature, particularly when we took the phone out for an afternoon photoshoot. We were able to properly see what's on the screen and angle our desired subject on a bright sunny day.
 |
The left and right sides
|
On the left side, you get to see the antenna bands, while on the right side, you'll see the volume rockers and power button.
 |
The top and bottom views |
At the top portion, you'll see two speaker holes and an IR sensor. While on the bottom, there's the USB-C port, SIM slot, and another speaker grill to complete the speaker setup.
When it comes to audio performance, the speaker delivers impressively loud sound at maximum volume without noticeable distortion. The highs, mids, and bass are well-tuned, offering a balanced and detailed separation that enhances the overall listening experience. However, we did observe a slight harshness in the treble at around 90 percent volume, which may be noticeable with certain tracks.
 |
The cameras |
Moving to the cameras, the vivo X200 boasts a 50MP f/1.57 Sony IMX92 main camera with/ CIPA 4.5 stabilization + a 50MP f/2.0 119 ultra-wide-angle + a 50MP f/2.57 Sony IMX882 telephoto + LED flash.

Based on our tests, the vivo X200 is an excellent mobile photography partner able to produce high-quality images across different focal lengths and lighting conditions.
 |
1x outdoor daylight |
 |
10x zoom |
During daylight or well-lit scenarios, we were able to see a high amount of details from 0.6x to 10x. It can capture the exact color of the scene, retain good dynamic range, and shadows.
 |
20x zoom |
At 20x focal point, you'd need some steady hands and patience to acquire a usable photo. Still, we're quite pleased with how it can perform remarkably on such a very far subject.
 |
10x zoom with fine details |
It also performed nicely indoors, capturing great details inside the Fort Santiago Museum. We also tried it in the gloomy caves of that historical place, with which the vivo X200 was able to produce plenty of details despite the area's ambience.

We were also able to get IG worthy food photos capturing mouthwatering meats, dimsum, and fruits.

Among our favorites from this phone is the Super Macro feature. It brings great background blur while also emphasizing your subject, even without putting your phone close to it.
 |

|
In the said feature, it particularly shines when you choose the 3x (70mm) or the 6x (140mm) focal points. Just take a look at our sample images.

In terms of low light, the standard 23mm shot produces an image with notable clarity. Most of the lights from the buildings are well exposed, and there's also minimal noise, good color accuracy, highlighting a good low-light performance of the phone.
 |
The 23mm low light |
Using the ultra-wide made the scene darker at the expense of wider space. It was able to capture more plants and houses, but with lower image quality. Looking at the building, you would still notice some details, but it leans towards the softer side.
 |
The ultra-wide at low light |
For 46mm, the image becomes brighter but with added noise, though it still looks sharp and well-exposed, along with precise color thanks to the phone's OIS and image processing.

The 2x night shot

 |
The 3x night shot |
 |
The 10x night shot |
Going above that, we experienced darker output with visible image deterioration. The light's reflection on the buildings was gone, and we could see changes in colors as well.

Selfie low-light portrait mode |
Using the phone's 32MP front camera delivers good image quality in daylight. It offers high details, good dynamic range, and accurate colors with minimal distortion, making it ideal for your quick stories on IG, FB, or TikTok.
The portrait mode creates background blur to further highlight our subject's face, although the bokeh rather looks artificial.
For low-light scenarios, while we were able to get a bright enough photo, the image had visible noise. The background also had fewer details, while the colors appeared alright. Overall, it is still usable, but you would rather find better lighting conditions when taking selfies.
Performance
The vivo X200 boasts a 3.63GHz 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9400 octa-core processor with Immortalis G925 GPU, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.
Below are the benchmark results:
 |
The benchmark test results |
- AnTuTu - 2,361,548 points
- Geekbench - 1518 points (single-core), 6283 points (multi-core)
- 3DMark - Maxed Out at 62 to 141 fps
- CPDT - 917Mbps write speed, 1.08Gbps read speed
These numbers are of the fastest we were able to experience on a phone, thus resulting in speedy performance, may it be on daily usage, social media, gaming, or photography.
In everyday use, this device delivers ultra-smooth social media browsing with zero lag, even with heavy multitasking. Whether you're scrolling through Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok while running multiple apps in the background or keeping dozens of Chrome tabs open, performance stays flawless.
It also excels at streaming, effortlessly handling 4K video on YouTube, Netflix, and Disney+ with no buffering or slowdowns—ideal for binge-watching your favorite shows.
The phone's gaming performance with Mobile Legends was exceptional, running smoothly on Ultra graphics and an ultra-high frame rate of 120 fps.
Running titles like Genshin Impact, Solo Leveling, and Prince of Persia mobile were a piece of cake, and you can even enable super resolution and view enhanced, which provides us with improved overall graphics quality
Gaming at the highest frame rates and ultra visual quality generates some warmth, though it stays within comfortable limits without causing overheating or noticeable performance drops.
Moving to the battery, it has a 5,800mAh size and charges using USB-C and a 90W USB-C FlashCharge.
Whole day battery performance
During our PCMark test, the vivo X200 rendered 20 hours and 28 minutes with 19 percent battery left.
That goes the same with our personal experience when I had taken it out on several occasions, such as an event, personal use, and even on our Holy Week vacation. Despite heavily using the camera on both photo shoots, videos, social media, and gaming, it manages to have around 35-40 percent battery remaining on a day of use.
That goes to show how well efficient the 3nm Dimensity 9400 plus vivo's aggressive power management is, which made it really difficult for us to drain the phone's battery.
In terms of standby time, the device can definitely last for several days if you leave it without charging.
When it comes to charging speed, the vivo X200 doesn’t disappoint. We plugged it in at 19 percent, and in just 20 minutes, the battery jumped to an impressive 49 percent. Meanwhile, a full charge only takes around a total of 45 minutes.
The vivo X200 uses an ultrasonic fingerprint reader located just below the screen. It instantly opens the phone when it's needed.
Connectivity options are WiFi 7, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.4, OTG, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC, dual SIM (nano).
For connectivity, all are working great, the speed tests were fast on both WiFi, 5G, and 4G LTE. The Bluetooth connection doesn't drop on either the wireless headphones or the gamepad.
The vivo X200 runs on Android with Funtouch OS 15 skin on top. It features AI Eraser, AI Note Assist, Transcript Assist, live call translation, and a circle to search.

Our thoughts
Priced at PHP 57,999, the vivo X200 brings flagship-level performance and cameras, particularly in portrait, zoom, and tele-macro.
It offers sleek premium design, great build quality, crisp and bright display, large storage, long battery life, and good sound quality.
The phone also has mainstream AI features and runs on the latest Android 15. It gets up to 4 major OS upgrades and up to 5 years of security updates.
So far, it checks mostly all of the boxes we are looking for in a phone at this price range.
Our only gripe here is the selfie low-light performance and that the Android OS upgrades could be better.
What do you guys think?
