ZTE Axon 50 launched: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 144Hz AMOLED, 50MP telephoto

Powerful mid-range

The ZTE Axon 50 boasts a sleek and modern design available in the Black colorway. It boasts a rectangular camera island, while next to it is the Axon logo in silver print. Durability is reinforced by a starlight AG glass back, offering both style and resistance to fingerprints and scratches

In front, it uses a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display with FHD+ 2400 x 1080 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, DCI-P3 gamut coverage, 1,000 nits max brightness, and TÜV low blue light certification.

Inside the device is powered by the 3.19GHz 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with Adreno GPU. This is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The phone also boasts a 5,000mAh battery and charges using a USB-C 80W power brick.

The camera system includes a 64MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with macro capabilities, and a 50MP telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. ZTE’s Lightning Capture 3.0 technology enhances shutter response by 30 percent and improves shot success rates by 20 percent.

Connectivity options are WiFi, 5G, 4G, Bluetooth, dual-frequency L1+L5 GNSS positioning with BeiDou’s third-gen augmentation system for precise location tracking. The phone also features 13 antennas for strong signal reception and an IR blaster for controlling compatible appliances.

The Axon 50 runs on MyOS 12, ZTE’s customized Android skin, which introduces features like dynamic lock screens, customizable widgets, and themed visuals. 

China price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

The phone is currently available in China via JD.com. There's no word from ZTE if it will become available to other markets at the moment.
