HUAWEI Pura 80 (global) launched: up to 1-inch 50MP sensor, Kirin 9020 chip, 5,120mAh battery

After its China launch, the HUAWEI Pura 80 Series goes official in the international market.

To start, the base HUAWEI Pura 80 Series features elegant designs. They sport dual IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance as robust protection against dirt or water splashes.

The vanilla Pura 80 uses a 6.6-inch LTPO OLED screen with 2760 x 1256 resolution, 1-120Hz refresh rate, 1440Hz high PWM dimming, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and Kunlun Glass 2nd gen.

Inside, it has a 2.5GHz 7nm Kirin 9020 octa-core processor with Maleoon 920 GPU, 12GB RAM, and 256GB storage.

The phone also has a 5,170mAh battery paired with USB-C 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

For cameras, the device uses a 50MP variable aperture main shooter with f/1.4 to f/4.0 and OIS + 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide snapper + 12MP f/3.4 5.5x  optical sensor + 1.5MP Spectral sensor for improved color accuracy. Meanwhile, it also uses a 13MP selfie camera at the front.

Other features mentioned are the stereo speakers and side-mounted fingerprint reader.

The Pura 80 Pro

Moving forward, the HUAWEI Pura 80 Pro features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED panel with 2848 x 1276 resolution, 1-120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and is also protected by 2nd Gen Kunlun glass.

It also packs the same processor mentioned above, as well as the 12GB/512GB memory configuration.

Camera-wise, it uses a 1-inch type 50MP Ultra Lightning Camera with f/1.6 to f/4.0 variable aperture and OIS. It is also paired with a 40MP ultra-wide angle snapper and a 48MP ultra lighting telemacro camera offering 4x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.

Similarly, the device also boasts a 1.5MP spectral sensor for precise color pick up, as well as using the same 13MP selfie camera.

The Pura80 Ultra cameras

For the Pura 80 Ultra, it gets nearly similar details as the Pro version, except it has a bigger 16GB of RAM.

Its cameras are a 50MP 1-inch Ultra Lighting Camera f/1.6 to f/4.0 aperture, OIS + 40MP f/2.2 Ultra-Wide Angle Camera + 50MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom, Sensor Shift OIS + 12.5MP f/3.6 telephoto camera with 9.4x optical zoom, Sensor Shift OIS + 1.5MP Spectral Channels Ultra Chroma Camera.
