HONOR Magic8 launched: 7,000mAh battery, SD 8 Elite Gen 5, Magic Color AI

Apart from the Magic8 Pro, HONOR also introduces the base model Magic8.

Big battery, powerful chip, and cameras

The device with a large circular camera island is inspired by a photography-focused design. It is available in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan, Black, and White colorways.

It also features a triple IP rating of IP68/69/69K for strong protection against dust and water.

In front, the phone features a 6.58-inch LTPO quad curved OLED panel with 1.5K 2760 x 1256 resolution, 1-120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, 6,000 nits peak brightness, 4320Hz PWM dimming, and Rhino Glass protection.

Inside, it uses the latest 4.6GHz 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 8-core processor with Adreno GPU, 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.0 storage.

It also boasts a MASSIVE 7,000mAh battery with USB-C 90W HONOR SuperCharge support and 80W wireless SuperCharge.

In the camera department, the phone uses a 50MP f/1.9 1/1.56" main sensor + 50MP f/2.0 122-degree ultra-wide + 64MP 3x telephoto camera.

For selfies, it uses a 50MP f/2.0 front shooter with 4K 60fps video.

The Magic8 also features the Magic Color, a first in the industry with an AI-powered color engine. The company claims it has the ability to intelligently extract 16.77 million colors.

It uses device-cloud collaborative color migration technology to achieve efficient color tracking and processing for both global tonality and local fine-tuning, resulting in high-quality output and seamless real-time preview. 

Other features are stereo speakers with DTS X Ultra sound effects. It also has a dedicated key for AI. Users just have to long-press the key to launch the YOYO Video Call, HONOR's proprietary version of Gemini Live.

For connectivity, it has a WiFi7 (2.4GHz/5GHz) 2x2 MIMO, 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, GLONASS, QZSS, NavIC, A-GNSS, NFC, and dual SIM.

For OS, the phone runs Android 16 with MagicUI 6.0 on top.
