realme India confirmed that the 16 Pro Series will enjoy 4 OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates.

Mid-range with long software support

The 4 major Android OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches are a HUGE step up from the previous 2 years of OS and 3 years of security upgrades of previous generation realme number Series smartphones.

Apart from India, realme will implement this for 4 years of OS and 6 years of security updates in select locations.

Other regions will get 3 years of OS and 4 years of security updates instead.

If realme stays true to its commitments, realme 16 Pro and realme 16 Pro+ owners running on Android 16 will get the most updated OS up to Android 20. Then, the phones will receive security updates up to 2032.

The update policy will overhaul boosts longevity, rival premium brands, and reset buyer expectations for extended use.

The realme 16 Pro+ 5G has a 6.8-inch 144Hz 1.5K screen, 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, 7,000mAh battery, and a 200MP Samsung HP5 OIS main cam paired with a 50MP 3.5x OIS telephoto shooter.

These devices are not yet available in the Philippines.
