New Sony Flagship earbuds set for February 12 debut

Sony has announced the upcoming launch of the next model in its WF-1000X earbud series.

A mighty successor after 3 years?

A teaser posted by the company indicates a release date of February 12, following the launch of the LinkBuds Clip three weeks prior.

The upcoming model is expected to be the WF-1000XM6, which will succeed the WF-1000XM5 that was released in 2023.

Images from a recent leak suggest an updated design, with earbuds that appear wider than the previous generation and feature an additional microphone grille. The charging case also seems to be larger.

While detailed specifications are not yet confirmed, the earbuds are expected to carry an IPX4 rating for water resistance and will be offered in at least two color options: Black and Silver.

 

Finally, the rumored retail price is between USD 300 and USD 350.
