As scheduled, the realme 16 5G officially launches in the Philippines alongside the 16 Pro model.

To recap, the handset introduces realme's own take on the "Air" design language, drawing clear inspiration from the camera island found on the iPhone Air. 

The rear module features a more populated sensor arrangement on the hump, along with a cleverly integrated selfie mirror intended for rear-camera self-portraits — a feature aimed at younger users.

Furthermore, the device carries an IP66/68/69/69K rating for dust and water resistance.

The display

In front, the phone sports a 6.57-inch flexible AMOLED display protected by DT Star D+ glass, running at a 120Hz refresh rate with a 240Hz touch sampling rate and a resolution of 2,372 x 1,080 pixels at 397 ppi. The panel reaches a peak brightness of 4,200 nits, which the company says improves legibility under direct sunlight.

Inside, the device is powered by MediaTek's 6nm Dimensity 6400 Turbo octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. 

Thermal management is handled by an Airflow VC solution featuring a 6,050 mm² vapor chamber.

The phone is backed by a 7,000mAh battery with support for 60W SUPERVOOC fast charging over USB-C.

On the imaging side, the rear camera system consists of a primary 50MP f/1.8 shooter with Laser AF, complemented by a 2MP f/2.4 monochrome sensor for portrait shooting.

The handset ships running realme UI 7.0, based on Android 16, and includes a suite of AI-driven features and tools.
