REDMI Note 15 SE launched: 5,800mAh battery, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, 50MP main camera

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G Special Edition in India.

Cheaper but tougher?

The device is positioned as a mid-range smartphone with an emphasis on performance, design, and functionality at a competitive price. Specifically, it has IP65 and 66 dust and water resistance as well as a MIL-STD-810H durability rating.

The Redmi Note 15 SE features a 6.77-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3200 nits peak brightness, and 12-bit color depth. 

The screen also supports HDR10+, DCI-P3, and TÜV Rheinland certifications, aimed at providing a premium and eye-friendly viewing experience.

The three colorways

Under the hood, the device is powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset with an Adreno 710 GPU. It includes up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and expandable UFS 2.2 storage.

The Redmi Note 15 SE is equipped with a 5,800mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting USB-C 45W fast charging and reverse wired charging. It also features TUV-certified Smart Charging 2.0 for safety and battery longevity, with a claimed lifespan of 1,600 charge cycles over five years.

For imaging, the device includes a 50MP primary lens with a 1/2.88-inch Light Fusion 400 sensor and f/1.8 aperture, along with a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. 

The camera supports 4K video recording at 30fps. On the front, a 20MP camera handles selfies, supported by AI features such as AI Erase, Dynamic Shots, and Artistic Portrait modes.

Other features include Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, 5G connectivity, and an infrared blaster.

The device runs on Android 15 with HyperOS 2, offering a smooth interface, device interconnectivity, and features such as shared clipboard and call syncing. Xiaomi has committed to four years of OS updates and six years of security patches for the model.
