BYD Atto 2 now official in PH: EV and DM-i variants, V2L, 1,340km combined range, and PHP 998,000 intro price

BYD Cars Philippines has expanded its subcompact crossover lineup with the debut of the all-new BYD Atto 2.

Positioned as an accessible entry point into electrified mobility, the new Atto 2 offers Filipino buyers a choice between a pure battery electric vehicle (BEV) and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

The BYD Atto 2 features an urban crossover silhouette with sculpted side bodywork, black cladding, and elevated ride height. The front features full-LED headlamps integrated into a closed-off grille design on the EV variant and functional cooling channels on the DM-i variants.

Compared to larger family crossovers like the Atto 3, the Atto 2 features a more maneuverable footprint, suited for tight city streets, measuring 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a 2,620 mm wheelbase. It also has a 150mm laden ground clearance and an 11-meter turning circle. The rear profile is fitted with an LED taillight assembly with an LED high-mount brake light and rear fog lamps. Dynamic and EV Premium models feature 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 215/65 R16 tires, while the DM-i Premium model upgrades to 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/60 R17 rubber.

The cabin of the Atto 2 focuses on a modern layout with ergonomic seating for five passengers. Drivers are provided with an 8.8-inch digital instrument display and a central touchscreen display (either a 12.8-inch screen on the BEV variant and a 10.1-inch screen on the DM-i models). All variants run on BYD's DiLink software with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, 4G connection, OTA updates, and a six-speaker audio system with voice control.

Interior materials include durable fabric with soft-touch trim on the DM-i Dynamic variant, while the DM-i Premium and EV Premium models upgrade to synthetic leather upholstery with a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat. Comfort features across the board include automatic climate control with PM2.5 filtration and dedicated rear air vents (the EV variant includes an energy-efficient heat pump system). Additional conveniences include Smart Entry with Keyless Start, NFC card key access, push-button start, and USB ports in both rows. Luggage space spans 433 liters behind the rear seats, expanding to 1,335 liters when folding the 60:40 split rear bench.

The Atto 2 lineup gives buyers flexibility across two distinct powertrain choices: 

1. Atto 2 BEV - Powered by a single permanent magnet synchronous motor driving the front wheels, paired with a 45.12 kWh BYD Blade Battery. It delivers up to 380 km of pure electric range on a single charge. It achieves 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, a top speed of 160 km/h, and an NEDC-certified pure electric range of 380km. It supports 7 kW AC charging (0-100 percent in 7.4 hours) and 65kW DC fast charging (10-80 percent in 24 minutes).
2. Atto 2 DM-i (Dynamic and Premium variants) - Combines BYD's Super DM-i plug-in hybrid engine with a Blade Battery. The system provides up to 45km of pure electric driving and a total certified combined range of up to 1,340 km based on tests with the Automobile Association of the Philippines. AC charging via Type 2 (3.3 kW max) replenishes the battery from 15 percent to 100 percent in 2 hours.

All models' suspension consists of the front MacPherson struts and a rear torsion beam, with disc brakes on all four wheels and electric power steering.

Its standout features include the Vehicle-to-Load (up to 220V AC), DiPilot ADAS (360-degree camera, 6 parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, intelligent cruise control, and speed limit assistance), up to 1,340km Hybrid Range on DM-i variants, and a once-a-year routine service schedule to reduce long-term ownership costs.
