The fifth edition of the iGnite event also celebrated Philippine‑grown innovation, with leaders from GCash, Ayala Group, policymakers, and tech stakeholders exploring how emerging technologies can be harnessed responsibly.
Based on a PIDS study, only 14.9% of Philippine firms use AI tools.
This underscores the need for stronger public‑private collaboration to make digital financial services more inclusive and secure.

Senator Bam Aquino also attended the event as a keynote speaker. At iGnite 2026, the chair of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology emphasized that data‑driven insights are essential for policymaking and urged leaders to embrace digital tools:
My position is, you cannot be a competent leader, a competent business, or a competent government if you don't utilize the tools that are already available right now, he said.
Aquino praised GCash for advancing financial literacy through innovation, reminding audiences that the fintech giant was "made here, hatched here, nurtured here" before expanding globally.
He warned that ignoring available technology would not only be "stupid" but "criminal."
The summit featured four tracks:
- AI Business Engine - AI & automation in financial services
- Intelligent Trust - Cybersecurity and customer confidence
- Agentic Enterprise - AI reshaping workplaces and processes
- Regulatory Tech Revolution - AI in fraud prevention and governance
Alongside the program tracks were hackathons, roundtables, and the inaugural GSafe: Vanguards of Trust cybersecurity summit, where GCash CISO Miguel Geronilla underscored that “cybersecurity is the foundation of digital trust."
