HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro now official in PH: 50MP Ultra Lighting cam, 6,000mAh battery, 5G connectivity, PHP 54,999 starting price

After its Thailand debut last month, the Pura 90s Pro finally arrives in the Philippines.

To recap, the HUAWEI Pura 90s offers a holiday-inspired color palette, with the device available in Guava Soda, Orange Soda, Coconut White, and Mulberry Black. 

HUAWEI stated that the phone features a durable build capable of withstanding accidental drops.

The display

On the display front, the device comes with a 6.6-inch LTPO OLED screen protected by Kunlun Glass, supporting a 1-120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2760 x 1256. 

HUAWEI says the glass protection is rated for 16 times better scratch resistance and 25 times better drop resistance than standard glass, while an anti-reflective coating reduces screen reflection by 70 percent.

Powering the device is the same Kirin 9030S chipset with a new NPU, paired with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. 

The phone is also backed by a 6,000mAh battery that supports 66W wired fast charging via USB-C and 50W wireless charging.

The design

For photography, the Pura 90S features a 50MP Ultra Lighting main camera with OIS, a 12.5MP ultra-wide RYYB sensor, and a 50MP macro telephoto camera. 

The device also supports AI-powered imaging features, led by AI Composition, which HUAWEI says improves scene coverage and trigger rate by 20 percent while guiding users on camera positioning, rotation, and movement. 

Also included are AI De-Glare, which reduces unwanted glare with precision, and AI Move, which lets users edit unwanted objects out of their photos.

Other notable features include stereo speakers with HUAWEI Histen Sound and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

In terms of connectivity, the Pura 90S supports full 5G alongside 4G LTE, WiFi 7 across the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and dual-SIM functionality. It also supports cross-OS file sharing with iOS devices, allowing for seamless transfers between different platforms.

On the software side, the device ships with EMUI 16 out of the box and includes HUAWEI's own AI assistant, Celia, for smart assistance. 

Among its capabilities, Celia allows users to order food through the Grab app using voice commands. 

The phone also comes with access to Google's suite of apps, including YouTube, Gmail, Maps, Drive, Meet, Docs, Slides, and Sheets, along with support for widely used applications such as Facebook, Instagram, BDO, BPI, GCash, Netflix, Angkas, Grab, Shopee, Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude.
