Build Quality / Design

The retractable microphone is as robust as the rest of the build
The retractable microphone is as robust as the rest of the build

The HEBE M1 RGB is a very massive over ear headset. It is made of a combination of solid sturdy polycarbonate, faux leather, metals and soft materials. It is fashioned with a non-adjustable bar at the very top with an adjustable cushioned head rest which was surprisingly comfortable.the non-adjustable bar may tend to rub some people in the wrong way but in my opinion, it would the least of your worries.
The M1 may be massive but is light on the head!
The over ear leatherette ear-cups do not rotate like some of the gaming headsets in the market. This takes away the need for mid game readjustments. It is breathable too as there is some room at the bottom of the cups that allow air to come in and allow the leatherette to stay smoothly in place and deal with the sweat when the gamers are in for the long haul. The case is made of light-weight plastic that keeps in the microphone and the headset peripherals. The lights are great and the whole thing looks really robust.

The M1’s cable comes with a clear protective layer, with braiding on the interior. If you’re often breaking your cables, this is a good solution, and it is very durable, while still being flexible and lightweight; it’s also very hard to tangle or accidentally knot in your bag. The controller feels a bit hollow and quite large but is easy enough to reach and use for those mid-game adjustments.
The cable's length is just the right size! no rolling over them with the chair!
The microphone is retractable when not in use and the build follows suit with the whole robust aesthetic. Given the goose-neck feature the mic can be adjusted to the necessary angle required for in-game conversations.

Comfort / Isolation

The M1 fits perfectly on my head given the adjustable head rest which is something that every gamer would appreciate. It is quite massive and robust headset but it doesn't feel that heavy when worn.
What is amazing is that the headset does not feel as heavy as it looks!
As mentioned before, the earcup do not rotate. Though it takes away the mid-game adjustments that some consider a burden, the lack of rotation means that the fit may not be as comfortable to some people's ears come in different sizes and shapes. The ear-cups also do a good job blocking out a lot of external noise while not being a sweat factory on the ears.

Sound Quality / Performance

The LED lighting is superb. It really adds to the aesthetic of the headset and can easily be turned off with the in-line controllers.

The headset really has a great sound! It has great emphasis on the bass sounds and provides a great surround sound experience. Be cautious in going to higher volume levels as the M1 really has some grit on those levels that may be uncomfortable. The M1 also comes in with a vibrate effect which I found surprisingly uncomfortable and a tad annoying. It has the intention of emphasizing the bass frequency but for some reason it actually doesn’t. However, this can easily be turned off from the controller so not a big deal at all.

The microphone is great. It is clear enough on Skype conversations and recordings. It is retractable but be mindful that doing so does not mute the mic automatically. You would still need to use the mute button on the controller.
The sound is really good! It has good depth on the bass frequency and has some spunk!
The sound is really good! It has good depth on the bass frequency and has some spunk! It has a few deficits on the mids but that is something expected from a gaming headset. The layers of sounds the headset produces are somehow balanced in a way. Regardless of you use it for watching movies, listening to music, or playing a round or two of your favorite FPS games, It is hard not to give some love to this headset which really is a good deal to say the least.

Pros - Great cable length, comfortable fit, wonderful audio for a gaming headset, auto adjusting head-rest, lights are cool
Cons - Earcup fitting is not movable

Verdict

Here is the deal: Given the M1's price, I think this headset is a great addition to any gamer's accessories line-up. It can perform really well, the virtual 7.1 surround sound is amazing, and has enough scores in the robust category to make sure that this you'll be using it for a long time. We can admit this headset could be a niche because the earcups cannot be adjusted but from observation the earcups are big enough to fit most ears out there.
