1. Huawei Nova 2i - At just PHP 14,990, the Nova 2i came out of the gates swinging. It surprised everybody with the gorgeous 5.9 inch FHD+ FullView display at an 18:9 aspect ratio. If that did not impress you, how about a QUAD camera setup? Yes, four cameras. Two at the back, two at front.
Under the hood, it has a 64-bit HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa core processor running at 2.36GHz, Mali T830 GPU, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of expandable storage. It also has a 3,340 mAh battery that could last you a full day at work.

2. Moto G5s Plus - At just PHP 14,999, Motorola delivered a really impressive mid ranger. The Moto G5s Plus has a 5.5 inch FHD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, a 64-bit 2.0GHz Snapdragon 625 octa core processor, Adreno 506 GPU, 4 GB of RAM with 32 GB of expandable storage and a 3,000 mAh battery with Turbo Charging.
The camera setup at the back sport a dual 13MP RGB sensor + 13MP monochrome sensor with PDAF and LED flash. The selfie camera has an 8MP wide angle lens as well.

3. OPPO F5 - At PHP 15,990, this is OPPO's first of two entries here in this price range. The OPPO F5 has a 6-inch FHD+ IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, it also has a 64-bit 2.5GHz Helio P23 octa core processor, Mali-G71MP2 GPU, 4 GB of RAM with 32 GB of expandable storage and a 3,200 mAh battery.
Touting the Selfie Expert branding, the cameras are pretty impressive, It has a 16MP f/1.8 lens with PDAF at the back and a 20MP f/2.0 lens with A.I. Beauty Recognition at the front. The rest of the specs include WiFi, 700 MHz LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, fingerprint sensor and facial recognition.

4. OPPO F5 Youth - At PHP 13,990, OPPO just released the Youth version of the F5. The F5 Youth also has a 6-inch FHD+ IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, the same 64-bit 2.5GHz Helio P23 octa core processor and the same Mali-G71MP2 GPU. However, the Youth has a slightly smaller 3GB of RAM with a 32GB expandable storage.
The cameras are also slightly different. The Youth has a 13MP f/2.2 sensor with AF and LED flash. It also has a 16MP f/2.0 with A.I. Beauty Recognition technology which is slightly smaller than the F5's 20MP sensor.
The rest of the specs include a 3,200 mAh battery, WiFi, 700 MHz LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Fingerprint Sensor and Facial recognition.

5. Vivo V7 - At PHP 14,990, the V7 is delivers a great balance of looks and performance. It has a 5.7-inch HD+ All Screen display, a 64-bit 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor, Adreno 506 GPU, 4GB of RAM with 32GB of expandable storage, and a 3,000mAh battery.
The V7 sports a 16MP f/2.0 OV16880 with AF and LED flash at the back. The selfie camera, on the other hand, has a 24MP f/2.0 with softlight flash. It also has WiFi, LTE, fingerprint sensor and a AK4376A HiFi DAC.

6. LG Q6 - At PHP 12,990, LG G6's smaller brother, the LG Q6, can be considered as a still. It has a 5.5 inch FHD+ FullVision display, a 64-bit 1.4GHz Snapdragon 435 octa core processor, Adreno 505 GPU, 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of expandable storage, and 3,000 mAh of battery.
The main camera has a 13MP f/2.2 sensor with AF and dual LED flash while the selfie camera has a 5MP f/2.2 sensor with a 100 degree wide angle lens. It also has WiFi, LTE, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS/A-GPS.

7. Cloudfone Next Infinity Quattro - At PHP 12,999. the Next Infinity Quattro will be released just in time for the holiday season. It has a 6-inch HD+ IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It has a 64-bit 2.5GHz Helio P25 octa core processor, a Mali-T880 GPU, 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of expandable storage and a 4,100 mAh battery.
The quad camera setup consists of 13MP + 5MP sensors with AF, 2X optical zoom, portrait mode and LED flash at the back and 20MP + 8MP with portrait mode, wide angle lens and LED flash. The rest of the specs include a fingerprint sensor, WiFi, 700 MHz LTE, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS.
These are the best at the sub PHP 16K range. These smartphones feel premium, perform at great speeds while keeping their price at relatively affordable levels.
