According to a report, the Samsung Exynos 9820 SoC will be paired with the MP18 version of Mali-G76. It means that it will have 18 cores of the Mali-G76.

In case you missed it, the is ARM's upgrade of the Mali-G72 last year. It is the company's first GPU built under the 7 nm process. It has a promise of 50 percent boost in performance, 30 percent better energy efficiency, and 2.7x improvement in machine learning compared with G72.

This report also means that Samsung won't be using their own GPUs on a high-end smartphone yet.

Most likely, we will see this high-end Mali GPU on a flagship Samsung device early next year.

Samsung is expected to launch the Exynos 9820 late this year.
