Vivo will update devices to Android 9.0 Pie in Q4 2018

With the announcement of the new Android version, the 9.0 Pie, people are clamoring for information if their devices will be updated. Vivo answered.

The Vivo X21 may get the update first

Vivo said that they will be rolling out the Android 9.0 Pie updates starting in Q4 2018. Vivo has not confirmed which devices will reserve the OS update but speculations seem to denote that the Vivo X21 may well be the first to receive the update since it was part of the Android P Beta program.

Another candidate is the Vivo NEX models which made noise due to it's innovative elevating selfie camera.

It is also worth noting that Vivo is one of the seven OEM partners that was able to test Android 9.0 Pie on their key and flagship devices ahead of its final release.

During the I/O 2018 devcon last May, Google announced that Android P Beta will arrive on the Essential PH-1, Nokia 7 Plus, OnePlus 6, OPPO R15 Pro, Sone Xperia XZ2, Vivo X21, Vivo X21 UD and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S.
