5. The gorgeous design - The Mate 20 Pro has improved the design of the Mate 20 Pro versus the Mate 10 Pro last year. Yes, it has a notch which some may not like, but it now has a better 3D curved glass back panel and a 3D curved glass in front.

The back of the emerald green and midnight blue variant even has a nice texture to prevent fingerprint smudge.

Moreover, Huawei upgraded Mate 10 Pro's water and dust resistance from IP67 to IP68 with the Mate 20 Pro.

4. Extra sharp curved OLED screen - The FHD+ display of the Mate 10 Pro last year is great. But it isn't as sharp as the QHD screen of the regular Mate 10. This year, Huawei did the right thing. The lower-end Mate 20 has the IPS FHD+ screen while the higher-end Mate 20 Pro has the more premium OLED QHD+ panel.

It is even using a 3D curved OLED screen with amazing colors, contrast, and viewing angles. It has 541 pixels per inch with 850 nits of maximum brightness.

3. Bigger battery capacity, 40W SuperCharge wireless charging, reverse wireless charging - As expected, Huawei upgraded the battery capacity of the Mate 20 Pro! Coming from 4,000mAh, it now has 4,200mAh of battery.

In our PC Mark work battery life test, it lasted for 14 hours and 16 minutes. It is significantly better than the 12 hours and 32 minutes we got last year.

Huawei also upgraded its charging features. It now has a 40W SuperCharge charger which can fully charge the phone in an hour, 15W wireless charging, and the reverse wireless charging feature.

It is the first phone in the world with reverse wireless charging solution. It means that you can charge the iPhone XS of your friend when he/she needs it.

2. New triple Leica camera system - The Mate 10 Pro last year has a powerful dual Leica camera setup. But, the P20 Pro early this year introduced a more powerful triple Leica camera setup. For the Mate 20 Pro, Huawei introduced a whole new triple Leica camera system.

1. 7nm Kirin 980 octa-core chip with Dual-NPU - The #Numbawan feature of the Mate 20 Pro for me is the new 2.6GHz 64-bit Kirin 980 octa-core processor with Dual-NPU and Mali-G76 MP10 GPU, and GPU Turbo 2.0 technology.

Why? The Mate 20 Pro is one of the first in the world with a 7nm chip! To keep it simple, it will have better performance and efficiency versus the older 10nm chips found on most 2018 flagship phones.

It also made the Mate 20 Pro the first in the world with 4G LTE Cat 21 technology, Dual-NPU to handle AI tasks faster, and LPDDR 4X up to 2133MHz support.

Aside from those key features, let us also note that it the Mate 20 Pro a lot of other AI-assisted cool features like the calorie counter, translator, PC mode, 3D Live Object, and more!

It even has a stereo speaker setup with Dolby audio.
