Sony launches fast USB-PD charger with intelligent power controller

Sony launched the very first "powerful delivery" fast-charge charger with an intelligent power controller. This is made for USB-PD compatible devices.

This is the very first USB-PD fast charger in the market

The charger comes with the model number CP-ADRM2. It is designed to maintain safe and reliable performance when used repeatedly as it learns your charging patterns.

This is all thanks to the intelligent power controller included. It also has a heat resistant design and 100V to 240V compatibility making it ideal for travelling across the globe.

It also features dual output ports. One is a USB-C port capable of producing 5V/3.0A, 9V/3.0A, 12V/3.0A and 15V/2.6A delivering up to 39W of power to all compatible devices. It does this by safely increasing the voltage sent to the USB-C port.

This makes it that it can deliver up to 5 times the output you get from a normal charger. The second port is USB-A capable of delivering 7.5W 5V/1.5A.

The USB-PD technology can allow a single power brick to charge larger devices such as notebooks and tablets at the same speed as their required AC adapter. It is aimed to be compatible with most devices such as smartphones, iPad, cameras and more.

Price and availability

There are no words yet about the global pricing and availability of USB-PD chargers. However, it is stated that it is currently available in different regions in Asia.
