Huawei P30 series to launch on March 26, 2019

Way better than Galaxy S10+?

Huawei seemed to post a cryptic message in its official Twitter account, saying “The competition isn’t even close. A better zoom is coming on 26.03.2019.” It even included a photo with a text, “Standard doesn’t do powerful zoom.” There’s also a photo that says “Standard doesn’t do perfect night shots.”

Is the firm referring to Samsung’s Galaxy S10+, which finally drew level with Huawei P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro in terms of camera quality?

DxOMark just released its review for the Samsung Galaxy S10+ cameras, just after a day of the product’s official launch in the US. It gave a score of 109 points, at par with Huawei’s P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro.

The device has five cameras: three facing the rear and two front cameras. The rear cameras are composed of of 12MP (f/1.5/f/2.4) with Dual Pixel, OIS, 16MP f/2.2 123-degree ultra wide-angle lens, and 12MP f/2.4 telephoto lens with OIS, AF, and dual tone LED flash, while the front facing camera son the other hand was made up of a 10MP f/1.9 and a 8MP f/2.2 RGB with Dual Pixel AF.

But Huawei would not give its throne without a fight. The Chinese tech giant even issued a statement where it hinted that the P30 Pro might have captured the Super Snow Moon.

The photo was posted by Richard Yu, chief executive officer of Huawei Consumer Business Group, in his Weibo account. However, the watermark was redacted to hide the smartphone used to take the picture.

Huawei’s P30 series is set to be revealed on March 26, in Paris, France.

One more month left before we could actually see which smartphone manufacturer offers the best camera. Are you excited?
