Will the US government finally soften its stance on Huawei?

In its official Twitter account, Trump urged US-based firms to be aggressive in the technology space or suffer on the losing side.

There is no reason that we should be lagging behind on something that is so obviously the future.

While the US President did not mention Huawei, it said the government must stop "blocking out currently more advanced technologies."

The Chinese tech giant, which eyes leading the 5G shift, has been receiving tirades from the US government for spying accusations, which had been long denied by Huawei.

The state has also been busied trying to convince other countries to block or ban Huawei products.

But Trump's Twitter posts were a surprise to the industry.

In a separate interview with media at Mobile World Congress in Spain, Huawei's rotating chairman Guo Ping acknowledged Trump's post, saying, "I think his message is clear and correct."

Other big nations like Germany, the UK, and New Zealand had expressed confidence on their capacity to mitigate Huawei potential risks.

They also mentioned Huawei's advanced technologies, which could help their nations embrace the 5G network.
