Xiaomi has just announced the Redmi Y3 in India. It features a Snapdragon 632, dual rear cameras and a front facing 32MP camera.

Xiaomi's newest selfie-centric phone

Mi fans in India are in for a treat with the new Redmi Y3. Beginning with the gradient back with P2i splash proof coating and 19:9 6.26-inch HD+ IPS display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

It features a 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 octa-core processor and Adreno 506 GPU with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 512GB via microSD.

Inside is a large 4,000mAh battery that is charged via micro USB with no word for fast charging support.

The dual rear facing cameras are made up of a 12MP f/2.2 camera with LED flash, and a 2MP secondary camera while the front facing shooter is a 32MP f/2.2 sensor.

It also contains a 3.5mm headphone jack, a fingerprint scanner.
It is running on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.

Lastly, there are three color options: elegant blue, prime black, and bold red.

Price and availability

The 3GB/32GB model starts at INR 9,999 or around PHP 7.5K while the 4GB/64GB model will cost you INR 11,999 or around PHP 9K. It is now available in India. There is no word yet if it will come to Philippine shores.

Last year, Xiaomi renamed the Redmi Y2 to S2 in the Philippines. Does this mean Y3 will be S3 in PH?
