The latest flagship camera from Canon has arrived. The EOS-1D X Mark III is equipped with a new 20MP full-frame CMOS sensor with the new DIGIC X processor.

The new sensor comes with a new "high-detail" low-pass filter that when paired with the new processor improves image quality and image processing by three times compared to the previous generation. This also results in improved AF because of a dedicated DIGIC 8 processor just for AF. It now comes with 191-points of AF with 155 of these being cross-type points.

One of the new features of the 1DX Mark III is that it offers 10-bit HDR photos using the HEIF image format that was recently implemented in the Apple iPhone 11.

Canon has also focused on video capabilities with the new Mark III. It now has 12-bit 5.5K at 60fps RAW internal video recording with a bitrate of 2600 Mbps. It can also downsample the 5.5K footage to record uncropped DCI 4K at 60fps at 10-bit 4:2:2 color which offers up to 12-stops of dynamic range. It can also record 4K/60fps or 1080/120fps but without Dual-Pixel Autofocus.

The LP-E19 battery is CIPA rated for 2,850 shots.

The camera weighs 1,440 grams with the battery and measures 158 x 168 x 83 mm.

It will set you back USD 6,499 (or around PHP 330K) for the body only without taxes or shipping.

t will be available in North America in the Middle of February. There is no word yet on availability and pricing in the Philippines.
