UnionBank is now 5G-powered
5G is the next-generation connectivity tech designed to be 20x faster than 4G. This tech is expected to power the Internet of Things (IoT) intelligent homes and make internet speedier for enhanced entertainment, gaming, security systems, virtual reality, and more.
Apart from faster speeds, Union Bank and Globe Telecom said that their 5G solution has higher bandwidth and a more stable internet connection that will allow Union Bank branch employees to connect 32 devices at the same time without sacrificing performance.
The first branch with 5G is the Dasmariñas, Cavite branch (The first ARK 2.0 branch).
According to Financial, banks can combine 5G and AI to better harness always-on and real-time data from devices for better prediction and anticipation of a customer's preference and behaviors.
Basically, 5G will make Union Bank serve its customers better in the future.
5G is an important building block in helping Philippine companies remain competitive in the digital age. This is the reason we are accelerating our efforts to deploy 5G, so we can provide more Filipino companies like UnionBank the chance to go beyond what the current technology allows them to do, added Globe Business Senior Vice President Peter Maquera.
Currently, Union Bank has a total of 15 new ARK branches. These branches are the company's fully digital branches designed to make transactions and more faster.
Let's expect that this is just the start.
