Xiaomi 3rd Generation Under-Display Camera Technology
It aims to provide a true full-screen display by hiding the selfie camera under the screen and it will only be activated when needed. Shou Zi Chew added that the company is planning on putting this into mass production next year. This simply means that the tech is just around the corner.
The video demo showed two phones. The first is the all-screen phone prototype with the 3rd Generation Under-Display Camera Technology and the other one is the current flagship Mi 10 phone.
In the video, it showed the camera under the display is not visible even if you are not using the selfie camera even if you view images and while watching a video.
The selfie camera sample they share also looks clearer and better without much haze, unlike the first-gen Xiaomi USC tech that the company showcased in 2019.
There are no other details on how the company made this tech possible yet.
One thing is for sure. It is exciting. Let's wait and see.
