adidas releases 4DFWD running shoes with data-driven/3D-printed midsole in the Philippines

It has a 3D printed midsole designed for forward movement

The adidas 4DFWD is touted as the next step in data-driven, 3D printed midsole innovation. It is designed to help you move forward more seamlessly. It combines years of athlete data with 3D printing to create a custom midsole for this model.

The 4D lattice midsole technology is already a 4-year collaborative project between adidas and Carbon. Combining athlete data with Carbon's Digital Light Synthesis technology to produce precision-tuned 3D printed midsole. The adidas 4D footwear is amongst the first in the world to use this technology to offer the ability to fine-tune midsoles to specific patterns of movement.

The adidas 4DFWD lattice midsole is made from identifying one of five million possible lattice structures. It is made of 39 percent bio-based material as well. The bowtie-shaped FWD CELL has been specifically designed to compress forward upon vertical impact. It generates three times as much forward motion under vertical loading compared to previous 4D midsoles.

The adidas 4DFWD also features the PRIMEKNIT+ upper that has been designed to work with the new midsole. It provides a sock-like fit to runners that allow the foot to breathe more freely. The rubber outside is designed to provide superior traction.

The adidas 4DFWD will be available starting May 15. It will be available in three specific colorways including the special Tokyo Collection drop.

It has a core black and solar red colorway that will launch first while the Tokyo Collection colorway will launch on July 1st.
