Confirmed: realme 8 series will go official in the Philippines on May 11

Late in April, realme teased that it will soon introduce a handset with a 108MP camera in the Philippines. We confirmed that it is the realme 8 series and it will go official in the country on May 11.

The realme 8 series consists of the realme 8 and realme 8 Pro.

realme 8 is a mid-range gaming-focused handset equipped with a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 180Hz touch sampling rate + In-Display fingerprint reader, 2.05GHz 12nm MediaTek Helio G95 octa-core processor, Mali-G76 3EEMC4 (900MHz) GPU, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB UFS 2.1 expandable storage, and a 5,000mAh battery capacity with USB-C 30W Dart Charge.

Apart from gaming, this also has a capable camera configuration highlighting a 64MP quad-cam setup and a 16MP Sony selfie cam. This is available in Cyber Silver and Cyber Black colorway.

Meanwhile, the realme 8 Pro is the company's first smartphone with a massive 108MP camera in the country.  It has a textured anti-fingerprint back design in Infinite Blue and Infinite Black colorways, a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 180Hz touch sampling rate and In-Display fingerprint reader, 2.0GHz 8nm Snapdragon 720G octa-core processor, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, and 4,500mAh battery with USB-C 50W VOOC SuperDart Charge tech.

In particular, the 108MP camera of this handset is the 108MP f/1.88 Samsung HM2 w/ PDAF. It is assisted by 8MP f/2.25 119-degree ultra-wide-angle + 2MP f/2.4 4cm macro + 2MP f/2.4 B&W + dual LED flash. In front, it uses the 16MP f/2.45 Sony IMX471 selfie camera. It also has Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos.
