DITO hits 4M mobile subscribers, reaches 34 new areas

Marking its eight months in the market, DITO Telecommunity now has four million subscribers as it continues to expand its presence nationwide.

DITO continues to grow its subscriber base

The third telco player said in a statement on Tuesday that as of November 8, the company is now providing mobile services to four million customers.

Its chief administrative officer Adel Tamano said the group achieved this milestone "ahead of schedule".

By yearend, the group—backed by Davao's Dennis Uy and China Telecommunications—expects to have five million subscribers.

We in DITO are humbled by the overwhelming support the Filipino people have shown these past months and we are inspired to push further in bringing the fast, affordable, and world-class connectivity that the Filipinos truly deserve as we are well on track to hit our five-million subscriber target by end of 2021, Adel said.

To support its target, DITO has been building cell towers. Currently, it has already constructed more than 3,300 towers. It seeks to complete 4,500 towers by end-2021.
