Acer's PH online store went down earlier, now it is back
#TechFriday sale update

Were you able to get the PHP 2,022 laptop?

The company didn't directly mention the exact reason for the outage, but they said that they are "working overtime to keep up with the volume of traffic and to improve our website's functionality".

The likely reason behind this is its ultra-attractive PHP 2,022 laptop sale in limited quantities and a lot of Filipino netizens are eager to grab one. Our guess? The server of the Acer Philippines website probably had a hard time handling the sudden spike of users .so it crashed.

To recap, it is an Acer Aspire 3 A314-35-C733 featuring a 14-inch HD 1366 x 768 resolution screen, Intel Celeron dual-core N4500, Intel UHD Graphics, 4GB RAM (upgradable), 256GB NVMe M.2 SSD storage, 36.7WHr battery with up to 8 hours life (according to Acer), and Windows OS. This even comes with 2 years of warranty.

From PHP 21,999, it will be priced at just PHP 2,022 during the sale.

On Facebook, some users commented that as a tech company, Acer should have known how much traffic it'll get from its #TechFriday sale and they have a point.

Acer on the other hand concluded its apology by stating,

We hope you can continue to check back with us until the sale period concludes, as we will periodically replenish our inventory of laptops. We appreciate your patience!

As of writing, the company's online store is up and running, but the PHP 2,022 Aspire laptop is currently out of stock. They have other laptops on sale if you are interested though.

Acer's #TechFriday sale will last until January 17 at 11:59 PM.
