It is a smart TV with 4K resolution, HDR support, and Dolby Vision/Atmos support

The Sony BRAVIA X80K is a Smart TV featuring the TRILUMINOS PRO technology and Sony's 4K UHD X1 processor that can deliver great contrast, brightness, HDR, and color accuracy. Even content in 2K or 1080p resolution can be upscaled to 4K due to its 4K X-Reality PRO technology. The 4K X-Reality PRO can upscale content using its own unique 4K database to retain as much detail as possible.

In terms of audio, it has Sony's X-Balanced speakers that are bottom-firing that also support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos to enhance immersion during the viewing sessions. With it being a smart TV, it runs Google TV with support for Google Assistant for voice commands. It also has AMbient OPtimization, Light Sensor, and Acoustic Auto Calibration.

Lastly, it has the BRAVIA CAM that supports gesture controls and video conferences including Google Duo. The Sony BRAVIA X80K is also part of the company's efforts to lessen waste by using recycled plastics for the bezels. With a proprietary technique of backlight control, Sony also promises less power consumption.
