PLDT/Smart encourages subscribers to go paperless, embrace its digital billing program

To help join the global call for sustainable practices and help save our environment, PLDT and Smart announced that they are encouraging their customers to embrace their new digital billing program.

To help in saving the environment

With this, customers of PLDT Home, PLDT Enterprise, and Smart have been receiving electronic copies of their monthly statements instead of the usual paper billing. This translates to saving more than a thousand trees from being cut per month or around 12 hectares of forest annually.

Apart from this, the PLDT group is also continuing to invest in eco-friendly processes to lower its impact on the environment. The group has also recently released its decarbonization roadmap where it targets to reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent by the year 2030.

Due to these measures, the group is boasting that PLDT and Smart are the only local telecommunication companies by the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) to the Stakeholders' Chamber on the Sustainable Development Goals.
