To recap, OPPO Reno8 T 4G is positioned as the brand's latest mid-range with 90Hz FHD+ 6.43-inch AMOLED screen, 6nm MTK Helio G99 octa-core processor w/ Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, and 5,000mAh battery w/ 33W USB-C charger.

Unboxing/Accessories

The box arrived in Gray color with a shiny rainbow accent at the center when light hits it. You will also notice the huge 8 logos as the brand's way of letting us know it belongs to the Reno8 Series.

Opening the box will greet you with the unit itself, the USB-C cable and 33W fast charger combo, a FREE TPU frosted case, a SIM injector tool, and the usual paper documents like warranty and quick guide.

Unfortunately, there are no earphones with a mic included.

Build Quality/Design

OPPO takes pride as they said this is one of the first mid-range devices to use a "Fiberglass-Leather" design on its back with the Sunset Orange color variant. There's also the Midnight Black color but shinier for those who prefer a darker color.

Fortunately, we were able to get the Sunset Orange as our review device. For us, in just one glance it already screams a premium feel immediately.

Clean look, not prone to fingerprint smudges!

There's no shiny thingy here which means it's less prone to fingerprints and the leather texture finish also provides a better grip when holding it.

In addition, the Golden frame on the sides compliments the Sunset Orange colorway making it more elegant and an eye-catcher. While you can also find a single circular LED on the camera ring. The color can be tweaked based on user preference.

Anyway, upfront you'll find the 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen w/ 90Hz refresh rate 100 percent DCI-P3 high color gamut, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It looks nice out of the box and there is no annoying notch. However, the chin bezel is still a bit too thick for my liking.

Looking at the top, you'll find the microphone hole, while at the bottom you can see the 3.5mm audio port, USB-C, and speaker grills.

The right side covers the power button and on the left, there's the usual volume rocker and SIM Card slot.

One of the main highlights of the device is the 100MP rear sensor coupled with 2MP f/3.3 microlens w/ 20x or 40x microscope zoom and 2MP macro snapper. While the selfie shooter is 32MP f/2.4.

First with 100MP in PH!

Below are the camera samples we've taken for now.

The point-and-shoot 100MP rear camera performed great in environments with good lighting both indoors and outdoors. We can definitely see some improvements over the Reno8 Z 5G.

Using the night mode can capture the right colors, details, and dynamic range however it isn't perfect as you can notice some lights bleeding.

The addition of micro-lens on the other hand lets users shoot at a microscopic level allowing them to explore creativity in capturing super tiny subjects.

However, it is a bummer that there is no ultra-wide camera for better versatility.

The 32MP selfie shooter did take the exact colors of the scene. Although the beauty mode is always turned on so keep in mind that.

As of the moment

Very nice display!
Very nice display!

We think the OPPO Reno8 T definitely offers a feel as if it has a "premium" price tag. However, while the Helio G99 is a respectable SoC, we feel like there are other better choices like a 5G chipset perhaps.

Anyway, the addition of a 100MP camera is also attractive and can take great pictures in both well-lit or lowlight scenarios.

We also appreciate the "Microlens" 20x or 40x microscope zoom. But, we also know that this is a feature that not every user would often find themselves using.

Other than that, this is an intriguing device and we will have to wait for its official local price tag before fully judging it.

That's all for now and we will update you once the full review is up.

What do you guys think?
