The Redmi A2

Two budget phones from Redmi!

The two phones feature a basic design with a faux leather finish at the rear with matte colors of Green, Blue, or Black choices.

Facing them up you'll see the 6.52-inch LCD (IPS) screen with a resolution of HD+ 1600 x 720 while you can also notice the water drop notch above the display and the thick bezels on all four sides.

Inside, the phones feature the 12nm 2.2GHz Helio G36 8-core processor with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

The difference between the two can be found in the memory configurations. Obviously, the basic Redmi A2 gets lower RAM and storage such as the 2GB/32GB or the 2GB/64GB while there's also a 4GB/64GB storage variant.

Meanwhile, the A2+ version only has a single 4GB and 64GB configuration.

When it comes to batteries, they have 5,000mAh that can charge using micro-USB and 10W charger.

For cameras, they are the same as well with 8MP primary shooter and a QVGA sensor partner. While the selfie shooter uses 5MP front camera.

Other features noted are the scratch-resistant display and splash-resistant body for added durability, rear-mounted fingerprint reader, and 3.5mm audio jack.

For OS, GizmoChina claims the two phones will sport a stock Android 13 experience.

China price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

Redmi A2 2GB/32GB - INR 6,299 (around PHP 4.2K)
Redmi A2 2GB/64GB - INR 6,799 (around PHP 4.5K)

Redmi A2+ 4GB/64GB - INR 8,499 (around PHP 5.7K)

The devices are now available in India's Amazon, and Mi online stores, and physical stores. However, there's no sign yet of other market availability. Stay tuned for now.
