Apple starts rolling out iOS 17 Beta 2: updated AirDrop, StandBy Mode, Location settings and more!

Apple has begun seeding the iOS 17 Beta 2 to developers and beta testers following its Beta announcement in early June.

Apple rolls out iOS 17 Beta 2

The new updates include several of the key features from the WWDC announcement along with a revised update screen with more details for the beta software.

Users can now touch their devices to start file transfers with the new tap to AirDrop feature. On the other hand, the Location Settings page inside the System Setting now adds a new MicroLocation choice which lets users provide more detailed location data for apps and location sharing.

There's a Message Check-In for Messages app that let users decide if they want to automatically send full or limited location data to a specific contact upon arriving at a particular destination.

For StandBy mode, it now supports the option to shut down all notifications. However, notifications tagged as critical will still be delivered.

For the Apple Music app, the crossfade length between songs may now be modified between 1 and 12 seconds using a toggle. While new size options are also supported in the app.
