Will DITO launch fiber services?

DITO earlier debunked a report about alleged broadband plans. But... It appears its broadband services will launch soon.

Heard through the grapevine, GIZGUIDE learned that DITO Telecommunity has begun deploying fiber NAP (network access point) in select areas. Based on people privy to the matter, the third telco firm may roll out its fiber service in Lipa, Batangas, and Imus and Bacoor in Cavite.

Note: Our source showed us the photo of the NAP, but asked us not to share it online.

Prepaid fiber service is also being readied for a September launch, our reliable source noted.

For its initial launch, DITO Telecommunity entered the mobile market with its prepaid service. It, later on, boosted its portfolio with postpaid and home services.

DITO Home Prepaid is powered by the group's 5G network, according to its website.

The company started challenging dominant players Globe Telecom and PLDT in March 2021.

After the SIM registration deadline, DITO Telecommunity's subscriber base was reduced to about 8 million but officials said they were revenue-generating users.

What do you guys think about this rumor?
