In an exclusive interview by Unbox.ph, POCO Global Product Marketing Manager Angus Ng teased that upcoming devices may offer 1TB storage soon.
During the POCO Partners SEA Forum 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand, POCO partner MediaTek teased the arrival of a smartphone equipped with the Dimensity 9200+.
After the formal presentation, Philippine-based news outlet Unbox.ph snagged an exclusive interview with POCO Global Marketing Manager Angus Ng. The Unbox.ph representative asked if the brand has plans of launching a phone with a 1TB storage option for global markets like Southeast Asia to be in line with competing brands like Redmi, realme, and Oneplus which have recently started offering terabyte high capacity storage.
Ng added that POCO planned to offer a 1TB for the F5 Pro but did not have enough time to make it as the decision was late into the development process. There were also other factors that affected the decision including necessary certifications and overall costing. They wanted to stick to their "Everything you need, nothing you don't" mantra to be able to offer value-for-money devices for their fans.
Ng ended by saying that they wanted to make sure that they can make it affordable at a strong price point so that more people can actually enjoy it.
POCO fans eager for the 1TB option will have to wait. But at least it won't be too long of a wait.
What do you guys think?
