Smart, Radisys intros new innovative live streaming features for FIBA 2023

Smart Communucations Inc. and US-based Radisys Corporation, a subsidiary of Jio Platforms Limited recently successfully ran its beta test of the Smart LiveStream App boasting new groundbreaking features at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.

Smart LiveStream App new features!

The new features include a 360 Camera allowing users to freely adjust their viewing angle by swiping across the screen, a Live Chat feature to make streaming more engine, and a Live Poll to ask the viewers' sentiments on the game.

The app also features the "Match Up" and "Box Score" tabs showing the team and individual stats in real-time as well as a "Watch Party" tab to allow users to share the live stream with up to seven (7) other people with enabled audio and video for them to talk, share images, and even post emojis while watching the game.

The successful showcase of game-changing features on the Smart LiveStream App is a major step forward in our ongoing collaboration with Radisys, and in our shared thrust to provide the best mobile experience to Filipinos. Smart said it has been their first test with Radisys since their August 2023 announcement of a cross-border collaboration for enhanced digital experiences in the Philippines.

It was tested in the match of the Philippines versus Italy last August 29. The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 started last August 25 and will end on September 10. The Philippines is one of the hosts of this major global basketball event.

Meanwhile, Smart recently made history as the first and only Philippine mobile operator recognized as the country's Best Mobile Network for three consecutive reporting periods by Ookla.
