Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ launched!

This covers the AR, MR, and VR devices. Samsung and Google intend to use this platform in their future headsets with support of 4.3K resolution and 90 frames per second.

According to the chipmaker, the XR2+ features a 15 percent improved GPU and 20 percent higher CPU max frequency if pitted against the former XR2 Gen 2. This upgraded chip will also permit dynamic foveated rendering, space warp, and game super-resolution including in 4K resolution.

Spatial computing support!

With the utilization of on-device artificial intelligence (AI), Qualcomm aims to enhance spatial interactions like head, controller, facial expression, depth estimate, and 3D reconstruction by supporting up to 12 or more concurrent cameras.

In addition, the XR2+ Gen 2 also supports all wireless protocols such as WiFi 6, 6E, and 7. This also supports 12 ms full-color video see-through as well.

Seeing that it has support for such heavy features, the new chip is expected to rival the Apple Vision Pro. Unfortunately, Qualcomm did not reveal when we can see the first device that will be powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor.
