The chipmaker also mentioned the improvements of the processor over its previous version. It brings 15 percent better CPU performance, 45 percent more powerful Adreno GPU, and 5 percent efficiency in power draw.

This is the first Snapdragon 7 chip to include on-device generative AI capabilities. It offers a diverse set of LLMs (long language models) and LVMs (large vision models), including Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, Gemini Nano, and Zhipu ChatGLM.

The AI features should improve virtual assistants and generate unique material with great efficiency. Multilingual translation and transcription should make entertainment more accessible to everyone.

Furthermore, the chip incorporates the Snapdragon X63 5G modem with FastConnect 7800 mobile connectivity system and 3GPP Release 17 5G.

The modem is Snapdragon X63 5G with FastConnect 7800 mobile connectivity system and 3GPP Release 17 5GDownlink over NR is up to 4.2 Gbps and phones with the chip will be able to run on all earlier cellular standards.
