Smart Money waitlist is  now live

This is the company's newest e-wallet app separate from their Maya app, a digital bank originating from the old Smart Money itself.

According to a reliable source at Smart, the Smart Money app will primarily function as an e-wallet and a payment application.

As of now, the app is just in preview mode. We installed it on an Android phone with a Globe SIM card. However, my other phone with a Smart SIM failed to receive the OTP to access the app.

Upon checking, the app could be used for Mobile Load, Send Money, and Scan & Pay.

You could also use it to pay Mobile postpaid, Cable/Internet, Water, and Electricity bills as well as Toll payments and even Education fees.

To enjoy a PHP 100K wallet limit, users may join the waitlist. Users could also use "My QR" to receive money using Smart Money and bank transfers.

The app is powered by Netbank, a fully regulated "Banking as a Service" platform that is designed to allow fintech to launch and scale fast in the Philippines.

Our source said that the services are not yet working. But, the features will start rolling out in "2 to 3 months".

What do you guys think?
