No more e-wallet loading
In an advisory, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has announced that it will be removing its "Load E-Wallet" feature on its mobile banking app for both GCash and Maya.
This adjustment will be implemented starting February 13.
Loading funds to said e-wallers may still be done via Instapay on the BPI app's "Transfer to other banks" feature.
Here's how to do it:
- Go to the BPI app.
- Go to the Transfer tab.
- Tap "To another bank."
- Choose "G-Xchange/GCash" for Gcash and "Maya Philippines Inc./ Maya Wallet" for Maya.
- Fill out the details needed and follow the remaining steps to complete the transfer.
There is a PHP 25 fee when you use this feature.
Another way to transfer from BPI to GCash and Maya is through bank transfer within the e-wallet app.
The fee on GCash is PHP 5. The same fee applies to Maya but there is a minimum amount transfer of PHP 500.
