During the recently held Mobile World Congress 2025, HUAWEI has showcased its newest device, the HUAWEI Mate XT, the world's first commercial trifold smartphone.

The device features proprietary hinge and screen technologies which have allowed HUAWEI to build a phone where the screen folds inward on one hinge and outward on another.

The handset also boasts an ultra-slim body measuring 3.6mm when fully opened and the largest foldable display on a smartphone at up to 10.2 inches. When fully folded, it could work as a smartphone at 6.4 inches with FHD+ 1080p resolution, a compact tablet at 7.9 inches with 2K resolution, and a regular large tablet mode at 10.2-inch with 16:11 aspect ratio for a wide viewing experience. It can also transform into a pocket PC with a dedicated after-market keyboard.

There was also the HUAWEI Mate X6 that has a 6.45-inch 3D Quad Curved OLED LTPO panel with a 2440 x 1080 resolution. The primary folding display features a 7.93-inch flexible OLED panel with a 2440 x 2240 resolution.

The foldable is powered by the Kirin 9020 octa-core chip, paired with 12GB/512GB storage, and uses a 5,110mAh battery with 66W SuperCharge or 50W wireless charging.

Aside from these smartphones, the Chinese tech giant also showcased its health monitoring capabilities through its wearables. HUAWEI simulated real-life sports and health scenarios.
