HUAWEI MatePad Mini launching soon

This device will be the brand's entry for the growing demand for compact tablets.

The promotional material highlights the device's portability with the tagline, "Small tablet, big phone, light and portable as promised." Its design aligns with HUAWEI's recent Mate family aesthetics, featuring a dual-camera array on the rear that shares design elements with the MatePad Pro series.

The image suggests a thin and lightweight form factor with a minimal camera protrusion. The front display appears to have narrow bezels, indicating a high screen-to-body ratio for a more immersive visual experience.

Software features will include support for the HUAWEI Notes and Born to Draw applications, which are optimized for use with a stylus. The presence of a network status icon in the teaser confirms cellular connectivity via a SIM card slot. The device is also confirmed to support NearLink (XingLian) technology for low-latency connections.

Based on prior reports, the MatePad Mini is expected to be equipped with an 8.8-inch OLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and a 16:10 aspect ratio.

It is also rumored to be powered by the Kirin 9020 chipset and house a 6,500mAh battery capable of 66W fast charging. Its dimensions are anticipated to be approximately 5mm thick with a weight of around 260 grams. Potential color options may include Snow White, Obsidian Black, and Spruce Green.
