Xiaomi Pad 8 launched: 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD, SD 8s Gen 4, 9,200mAh battery

Apart from the Xiaomi 17 Series, the brand also introduces the Xiaomi Pad 8.

The tablet's design

Xiaomi Pad 8 launched

This is the successor to Xiaomi's widely popular Xiaomi Pad 7.  Its design features a unibody metal construction, with a thickness of 5.75mm and a weight of 485g; the Matte Edition is slightly thicker and heavier at 5.8mm and 494g.

The tablet is equipped with an 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD display featuring a 3:2 aspect ratio, a resolution of 3200 x 2136, and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 144Hz. 

It supports 12-bit color, reaches a brightness of 800 nits, and is compatible with HDR10, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision.  Meanwhile, the Matte Edition uses AG nano-etching to reduce reflections.

The display

At its core, the Xiaomi Pad 8 packs the 3.2GHz 4nm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. Memory options include 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM or 12GB of LPDDR5T RAM, paired with storage configurations of 128GB using UFS 3.1 or 256GB using UFS 4.1.

The device is powered by a 9,200mAh battery that supports USB-C 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging. 

The camera system consists of a 13MP rear sensor capable of 4K video recording and an 8MP ultra-wide front camera with AI-powered features like portrait centering.

Other features include a quad-speaker system with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio certification. For connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB 3.2 Gen1. 

Finally, the tablet runs on HyperOS 3, which introduces a revamped user interface and enhanced multitasking capabilities.

It is currently available in China only. No word yet for the PH release at the moment.
