HONOR rewarded guests at its User Carnival in China with an exclusive preview of its teased HONOR Robot Phone with a retracting gimbal camera.

A tease of what's to come
In October, we reported that HONOR was teasing a smartphone with a retracting gimbal camera called the "Robot Phone."
In the report, we mentioned that the brand is claiming that it will be a "revolutionary" AI device that "fuses multi-modal intelligence, advanced robotics, and next-generation imaging." It is apparently part of HONOR's ambitious ALPHA PLAN to become a global AI device ecosystem leader.

The preview showcased the smartphone's iPhone 17 Pro-like design with an aluminum chassis and a glass window below the camera island. On display are several colorways, including Black, White, and Gold.
The gimbal camera pops out and retracts from the recessed area on the camera island.
It is highly speculated and expected to feature a plethora of AI features that allow the gimbal to move and interact with what it sees.
There is no word on whether the Robot Phone will see a commercial release or if it will remain a prototype.
We can expect more information in the coming months leading up to the Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona.
