Stunning first Xiaomi 17 Ultra photo and video shots revealed

Ahead of its highly anticipated December 25 release date, Xiaomi shared some camera samples of the 17 Ultra.

Still in collaboration with iconic camera brand Leica, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will feature a brand new 50MP f/1.67 OmniVision Light Hunter 1050L primary camera with LOFIC or the Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor tech.

So far, all the camera sensors they shared are from this 23mm main shooter.

According to the translation from Microsoft Copilot, LOFIC enhances how much detail the camera can capture between bright and dark areas. It promises better night and low-light photography, with balanced highlights and shadows.

Based on the first samples they showed, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra impresses with crisp details, punchy colors, and a wide dynamic range.

Xiaomi went ahead and shared a batch of camera samples from the 17 Ultra’s main cam. The shots are characterized by great color reproduction, accurate details, and excellent dynamic range.

We are just not sure if these images were post-processed, but they all look great for phone camera shots.

Meanwhile, the company also shared a video clip showing that they attached the Xiaomi 17 Ultra to a drone to capture a fireworks show. They credited the LOFIC tech for the improved video quality with rich details even in the dark.
