Xiaomi Watch 5 launched: 1.54-inch AMOLED, HyperOS 3, and eSIM support

Apart from the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the brand also introduced the Xiaomi Watch 5.

The smartwatch features a 47mm stainless steel case available in Black or Silver options. Meanwhile, there are three strap options to choose from, such as leather Brown, metal Silver, and rubber Green.

In front, it features a 1.54-inch AMOLED display, which offers a 2.6mm bezel and supports a refresh rate of 60Hz with peak brightness of up to 1500 nits. 

Both the display and the heart rate sensor are protected by synthetic sapphire glass for enhanced durability.

The device operates on a dual-chip architecture, pairing a 4nm Snapdragon W5 wearable processor with a BES2800 low-power chip. 

This setup is designed to balance performance and efficiency, with the Snapdragon W5 handling high-demand tasks and visuals while the BES2800 manages background operations and health monitoring.

According to Xiaomi, the battery can last up to six days in performance mode and up to 18 days in power-saving mode.

Health and fitness capabilities comprise ECG analysis with 30-second readings, continuous heart rate and SpO₂ monitoring, sleep tracking, stress detection, and one-tap health scans.      

A notable addition is an EMG muscle signal sensor, which allows control of calls, media, and connected devices through finger gestures. 

There are over 150 sports modes included, featuring guided workouts with rep counting for indoor activities, as well as offline maps, route navigation, and track-back support for outdoor pursuits.

Wireless functionality includes eSIM support on certain models, enabling standalone 4G connectivity for calls, messaging, and mobile payments via WeChat and Alipay. The watch also provides access to music streaming, Baidu Maps navigation, and a built-in app store with applications across fitness, social, utility, and other categories.

The Xiaomi Watch 5 is compatible with Xiaomi’s HyperOS and includes the on-device Super XiaoAi voice assistant. It supports contact-based charging and comes with multiple strap options, including fluoroelastomer, leather, and a 3D-printed titanium band.
