More Grab EVs have arrived!
The move aims to give Metro Manila commuters greener and more affordable ride options as fuel costs continue to rise due to the geopolitical conflict in the Middle East.
The seven operators include EV Taxi Corporation, EnviroCab, TaxiKo Transport Services, KateMikylla, CMAIII, ManilaTrans Taxi Corp, and Sun & Bin Transportation Corporation.
This rollout comes as fuel prices in the Philippines continue to rise, with significant hikes reported in March 2026, where diesel prices increased by more than PHP 24.25 per liter and gasoline prices by more than PHP 13 per liter.
Traditional taxis are facing even tighter margins due to the volatile fuel costs. In contrast, electric vehicles cost 75 to 87 percent less per kilometer to operate than conventional ones. This makes them a more stable and resilient choice for operators.
Several participating operators report that GrabTaxi Electric bookings now make up over 80 percent of their daily transactions, boosting fleet utilization beyond street-hailing alone.

What are the benefits for commuters and operators?

- Cost savings for operators, helping them stay profitable despite fuel price surges.
- Reliable demand through the Grab platform for Filipino-owned fleets.

Grab plans to grow GrabTaxi Electric beyond Metro Manila, with eyes on Cebu and Davao as EV adoption increases nationwide.
This partnership shows how local operators, combined with platform technology, can deliver practical, eco-friendly transport solutions during times of high fuel costs.
