Apple AirPods 5 now official: "Class leading" open-ear ANC, starts at PHP 9,490

Apple introduced the new AirPods 5 open-ear earphones with Active Noise Cancellation alongside the new iPhone Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Duo.

Enhanced ANC and redesigned audio

Apple is offering the device in two variants: the base configuration and the wireless charging case model.

Inside is Apple's H2 chip; the AirPods 5 focuses on delivering premium noise-reduction capabilities without requiring plush silicone ear tips. The Open-Ear Noise Cancellation should remove up to 50 percent more background noise compared to previous generations, alongside a redesigned natural transparency mode.

It uses a next-generation acoustic architecture built with an all-new multiport acoustic layout and updated Adaptive EQ for balanced, immersive sound.

With the charging cradle

The new earphones integrate Siri head gestures for hands-free calls and improved durability with enhanced sweat, water, and dust resistance. 

Apple includes Smart Audio modes such as Adaptive Audio, Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, and Voice Isolation for clearer call quality.

Apple claims the AirPods 5 base model delivers up to 4 hours of listening time on a single charge with ANC enabled, or up to 6 hours with ANC turned off. The case recharges via the USB-C port.

The AirPods 5 with the Wireless Charging Case delivers up to 5 hours of listening time per charge with ANC enabled or up to 7 hours with ANC turned off. With the wireless charging case, it totals up to 22 hours of total listening time. The upgraded case supports Qi wireless charging and Apple Watch chargers. It has a built-in speaker for Find My Tracking and introduces on-screen volume swipe controls.
